Powerful natural antioxidant

We are all aware that we need to eat 7 to 10 portions of fruits and vegetables every day. However, in real life many of us are not able to take the time to choose and buy the most nutritious fruits, or to eat enough of a variety of foods to benefit from a diversity of antioxidants.

FRUITOMED now makes natural antioxidants easily available with its polyphenol concentrate, IMMUNIA®. The polyphenols in elderberries are molecules with antioxidant capacities that provide health benefits. These molecules help to combat the formation of excess free radicals in the body.

According to an article written by Dr. Richard Béliveau (Les polyphénols, molécules de longévité. Journal de Montréal, 11 novembre 2013),  a large number of epidemiology studies have shown that high consumption of polyphenol-rich foods is associated with a significant decrease in chronic diseases.

NEW!
Thanks to its high concentration of antioxidants, IMMUNIA’s claim to help relieve articular pain such as arthritis, etc. has been approved by HEALTH CANADA.

Inflammation is the immune system’s normal protective response to an injury or negative external stimulus such as pathogens, allergens and other irritants. Inflammation serves to overcome infections and repair damaged tissues.
However, inflammation that persists because of recurring stimulus leads to chronic inflammation and contributes to the onset of many inflammatory diseases, such as arthritis and rheumatism. The combination of the elderberries’ various polyphenols helps relieve this joint pain.

Studies have shown that the consumption of polyphenols has an important effect of reducing inflammatory stress shortly after their consumption, which stresses the importance of consuming polyphenol-rich foods as often as possible.

Immune system | Antiviral

The immune system is essential to our body. It is our best defence system against disease: it chases viruses, combats bad bacteria, kills parasites and tumour cells.

Several studies have successfully shown elderberries’ properties. These studies were conducted to measure their efficacy against several strains of viruses, including A-type and B-type influenza (responsible for the flu virus).

It was shown that the flavonoids in elderberries attach themselves to the H1N1 influenza virus and prevent it from entering into the host’s cells to infect them.

That is why the elder has been used for years in phytotherapy to fight cold and flu symptoms (cough, sore throat, fever, acute or chronic inflammation [i.e. allergies] of the mucous membranes in the upper respiratory airways).

IMMUNIA’s high polyphenol concentration has an efficient and natural antiviral action, without alcohol, potassium sorbate, sweetening agents, etc. IMMUNIA is 100% pure, fruity, and tastes delicious!

Several studies have shown polyphenols’ capacity to regulate the immune system, which allows IMMUNIA to act in the PREVENTION of colds, flu, and sinusitis!

For the well being of the intestinal flora

Several recent studies have shown that polyphenols act to restore healthy intestinal flora (also called microbiote) by acting as a prebiotic, thus helping to improve certain inflammatory diseases.

According to André Marette, researcher at Université Laval’s faculty of medicine and scientific director of the Institute of Nutrition and Functional Foods (INAF), polyphenols contribute to the multiplication of beneficial bacteria, such as Akkermansia Muciniphila in the intestine, that are responsible for the intestinal flora health and even weight control.

A study carried out by researchers Roopchand et Al. confirms results reporting that the administration of a 26,2 mg dose of polyphenols/day (study carried out with grape extract) had a beneficial effect on Akkermansia and improved intestinal flora health (microbiote).

Each 5 ml dose of IMMUNIA provides 32 mg of total polyphenols (including anthocyanin, quercetin, rutin, and catechin, etc.).

Eliminates toxins from the body

Acts as an alterative to help eliminate waste accumulated by the kidneys, skin and mucus membranes. Elderberry’s high potassium content makes it a safe diuretic for long-term use. It also prevents kidney stones.
