The elderflower herbal tea is a 100% natural herbal tea made from dried elderflowers. Elderflowers are perfect in herbal infusions, in cooking and even in summer lemonade. Available in 75 g (about 75 cups) or 1 kg loose formats.
For one cup, steep about 1 g of dried elderflowers (a heaping teaspoon) in 250 ml of hot (not boiling) water for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain with a tea infuser (available in the Fruitomed shop). Can be enjoyed hot or cold.
A 75 g bag makes about 75 cups of herbal tea (at 1 g per cup). For more intensive or family use, the 1 kg format is available. The flowers keep for a long time in their original packaging, away from light and moisture.
The taste is delicate, floral and naturally sweet, thanks to the aromas of elderflowers dried at low temperature. Some enjoy its light, floral profile as is, while others like to add a touch of honey, lemon or mint.
Yes. Thanks to their delicate aroma, dried elderflowers can also be used in cooking: in bread-making, in jellies, to flavour homemade syrups, or infused in milk or dessert creams. It is a versatile ingredient much appreciated in Nordic and Quebec cuisine.
No. The elderflower herbal tea is 100% pure, caffeine-free, with no added sugar, no additives and no preservatives. It contains a single ingredient: dried elderflowers.
Naturally caffeine-free, it can be enjoyed at any time of day, including in the evening. Since elderflower is traditionally recognized for its mild diuretic properties, some people may prefer not to drink a large amount right before bedtime.
