The acquired immune system

The acquired (or specific) immune system is an adaptive defense, highly specialized and capable of learning. This mechanism relies on the interaction of B lymphocytes and T lymphocytes. B lymphocytes produce antibodies perfectly adapted to neutralize the invader.
